Why EXCESSIVE Self-Reblogging Is An Issue
So I've seen a lot of posts on this and I really wanted to kind of clear up the argument that a lot of people are making -- myself included.
Self-Reblogging V.S. EXCESSIVE Self-Reblogging
Almost everyone self-reblogs. I do it, lots of the people I follow do it. I personally do it when I work super hard on an edit and I want more people to see it, or when I think more people are online, or even in hopes of getting Taylor to notice it!!
That said, I reblog a post a MAXIMUM of 5 times, and that's not in a row. I'll reblog it one day and give it some time to circulate, and depending on the post, maybe I'll reblog it again awhile later.
When I say EXCESSIVE self-reblogging, I mean reblogging a post 100+ times within a short period of time. This not only clogs up everyone's dash (including Taylor's if she follows you), but it drowns out everyone else's posts and therefore lessens THEIR chances of being noticed too.
Also, TAYLOR DOES NOT OWE ANYBODY A LIKE!!! I know that you might have an AWESOME post that you really really really want Taylor to see, but self-reblogging isn't the best way to get there. If you're purposefully clogging Taylor's feed with your post so that she has no choice but to like it... don't.
How Will I Get Taylor To Notice Me If I Don't Self-Reblog???
I have been on Tumblr since 2014 and I haven't been noticed by Taylor, like soooo many people on here. Unfortunately, it seems that Taylor only notices the stuff on her dashboard, meaning that if you post isn't reblogged by someone she follows, your chances of her seeing it are slim.
HOWEVER!! You can still have fun here on Tumblr! This is a space for all of us to interact and appreciate each other, whether Taylor joins in or not. Reblog posts you find funny, make some jokes/memes of your own, reblog edits and art (people work so hard on those!), and send people messages or asks.
I'm sorry for the super long post but I think this is a really important thing to point out!!! If anyone has other things that I may have missed, please TELL ME! I'm open to feedback :)
