A Study In International Family Day (2026) FT. Santana Sangreal x Alexander Anderson + their daughter Milagros
⋆‧°𓏲ּ𝄢 One Vampiric Vampire Slayer + One Human Regenerator = One Unexpected Dhamphir and overall, one very tender hearted, fiercely self-guarding family... It's simple enough math but boy howdy, Milagros was indeed a miracle child.
She exists in two universe timelines which will be explained below the cut alongside a rambling infodump about Milagros in general fueled by my maternal love for her:
1. The Canon Divergent AU Timeline- born a couple years after the Battle of London and after Santana and Anderson (who survives) are married.
2. Roman Holiday AU timeline (a universe entirely based on this story my friend Jazz @tokoyamisstuff wrote ♡ check her out she's a lovely writer and sometimes makes hilarious text post screencap edits of different shows!) ---- Milagros is born a couple of years before the Battle of London and a year after Santana and Anderson meet as complete strangers in Rome.
Yes. A whole year. Saint is carrying this baby a whole year. That's what she gets for winning the luck lottery and having a dhamphir baby which I've decided is exceptionally rare and a genetic anomaly in the world of Hellsing.
Her name is Milagros Nayeli Sangreal Anderson which absolutely is a mouthful but that's Latin culture for you. She mainly goes by "Mila", "Mimi" or "Lala".
As a Dhamphir
Mila is born with human canine teeth which naturally fall out and are replaced with vampiric fangs as she grows.
When she nears puberty, her ears taken on the characteristic sharpness of a vampire like her mother's and blood becomes a nutritional necessity alongside the normal human foods she grew up eating-- it does not replace it.
She's innately capable of the same vampiric powers as Santana (shadow magic, manipulating her hair, extreme speeds, extreme senses, extreme speed, etc.), the same biblical powers of Anderson through training with him (summoning barriers being one, she's got a pocket dimension), and her healing rate is somehow twice as fast because of Anderson's mutated DNA.
Basically, she's got the strength of a tank, the agility of a rogue, and the magic of a mage. Hellsing is going to be quite lucky to have her as another slayer when she's old enough to decide on whether she wants to join or not.
She gains a familiar later on down the road, something with wings instead of fur and teeth like Santana's Bandersnatch and Alucard’s Baskerville. It looks concerningly.... biblical in comparison to those other two demonic entities.
She cries blood after her vampiric genes kick in. As such, she works very hard on not crying in front of others unless they're trusted family she knows won't be grossed out or freak out on her.
Fun facts
Lala is a Leo, born August 2nd. The year depends on the AU.
She speaks six languages- Nahuatl, Maya, Spanish, English, and Scots. She's learning Scottish Gaelic with Anderson and is fluent in British sign language (she refused to talk for the first two years).
She was born with a thick lock of pure white hair. It's behind her left ear and is easily hidden. She's self conscious about it, so please be nice ♡
Her favourite colours are green, purple, red, pink, yellow, and blue. You cannot make her narrow it down (although if politely pressed she'll say red and green like her mother eyes and father's eyes).
She prefers wearing gold over surgical steel.
Her favourite movie is My Neighbour Totoro. She lovingly calls Anderson 'Totoro' just as much as she calls him 'Papa'.
She has both subtle, numerous freckles like Anderson and obvious, sporadic freckles like Santana and two small moles on the right side of her jugular that looks like a vampire bite.
She loves animals and enjoys laying on Santana's familiar, Bandersnatch, and giving the eldritch looking jaguar belly rubs and cuddles when she isn't running after Alucard's Baskerville. She also loves bugs because Anderson made sure that she understood from a young age that even the smallest creatures were God's creatures.
As a child
Mila is laid back, enjoys entertaining other children, lending a helping hand, making others laugh and smile. She's a natural leader although she sometimes struggles with self confidence and needs encouragement from time to time.
She was a mischievous toddler, always running away to phase through walls in impromptu games of chase, and as an older child she enjoys play fighting and wrestling with her Uncle Alucard and Anderson.
As a teen
As a teen, she's earnest, feels emotions violently, and is concerned about her vampiric powers and newfound thirst for blood. She was prepared for this to happen but experiencing it makes her feel doubly paranoid and anxious to control herself properly.
If you asked her who her best friend is, she wouldn't hesitate to say her Nantli (mother in nahuatl) before saying Angelica (belongs to @tokoyamisstuff as Enrico and her Mira's daughter ♡) as well as Briony and Calla (belongs to @bunniisms as Walter and buns Amity's adopted daughters ♡ ).
Tells Santana all the secrets she's told to keep secret because "that's Nantli (mother in nahuatl) I trust her with everything." She doesn't do the same for Anderson only because he's not very good at keeping secrets lmao
I could literally go on and on and on about Milagros I love her I love Saint and Anderson's miracle baby ♡
