Meet the Artist: Selma Fernandez Richter
This week I’m very glad to bring to you a photographer I have seen grow in time, Selma Fernandez Richter. A portraiture artist born in Oaxaca, Mexico residing in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Fernandez has been exploring themes that relate to identity through a connection with a place, adaptation and religion. Most of her late work is done in film, in a unique way where she relates to people no matter their religion or culture. One of her biggest strengths is that she is able to capture moments and feelings that speak for themselves and where the engagement she has with this world is shown in each and every portrait she does. Selma Fernandez also works as a photo workshop producer, including Mary Ellen’s Mark workshops in Oaxaca, Mexico and New York.
You can see her series Ephimeral City at COLEC7IVA here.
