21. What is their worst memory together?
OOOOHHHH now that is a very interesting and tough question... Given that nothing really happens in their small nook of Helsinki's countryside — not even war touches their bubble — it wouldn't be a disaster or anything of the sort.
But it would probably have to be the tragedy of their daughter's fallen marriage and the sea of tears she cried trying to recuperate after her husband's abandonment. I don't think they've ever seen a sadder face in their lives, and the heartbreak was something unknown to them. They wished they could be of more help, but the sheltered nature of their lives couldn't be of use to their child who is dealing with a loss much bigger than herself.
She managed to pull herself together and go on a journey to find her husband with a great determination, of course, she had a passion for life neither of her parents possessed and they were proud of her for that, but I don't think the guilt of being useless ever left them, especially Selma.
Did you know that parents also have parents?? Crazy. So here are the Moominparents' parents.
