I have a thing for 'selvedges'! Here's my latest project ... an insulated Lunch Bag. It's 5" wide and about 10" square with a velcro closure. I still have so many selvedges left.

For Heather. A bag of selvedges. Almost as many without text as with. I went ahead and cut the selvedges off of the rest of my fabrics, so now the bag is stuffed.
I admit that I am a Selvedge addict making many projects with foundation pieced selvedges. This is my latest ... the quilt is comprised of 56 10 1/2″ foundation pieced blocks with an additional 2 1/2″ framed border. Not all of the selvedges were mine. Guild members have donated to my collection over time. I used a very lightweight batting as this is a very heavy quilt. It’s a keeper!
Just finished my latest Selvedge project ... a large carry bag ... 14″ tall, 22″ long, 8″ wide. Just imagine all it can hold!
As many of you out there, I’ve had a lot of time on my hands. I dove into my container of selvedges and 56 8 1/2″ blocks later I have this top. I’ve added it to my growing pile of quilts ‘to be quilted’ when this Pandemic is over. Hopefully that will be soon. Self Distance ... Be Safe!
I’m gong a little Selvedge crazy ... I just love them to pieces. I needed a large carry bag for all that goes back and forth to our Sew Days, etc. so came up with the bag on top. I resurrected my old Morse Sewing Machine and decided it needed a Dust Cover so made one to match one I had made earlier for my Industrial Machine. I just might have to make more to coordinate all machines in my sewing room.
This amazing quilt was brought into the shop the other day by one of my wonderful customers. If you look closely you will see she made it completely out of selvedge. As you would guess, it is much heavier than a traditional quilt. I think Annette R. Did a really great job. What do you think? #quilting #quiltingfabric #selvedges #quilt #quilts #pittsburgh
