this is essentially an alternative to the term 'non-sam' that specifies one identifies as non-sam/does not identify within the split attraction model, separating the identity of non-sam from those who just don't use the split attraction model. for example, a perioriented person doesn't use the sam and is therefore, by definition, non-sam, but if they don't actively identify with that, they would not be thornspec.

anon provided a few examples of thornspec identities: someone who calls themselves 'gay', but is actually homosexual with an unlabeled romantic orientation; identifying as 'demi' without specifying in what attraction type; and identities that reference romantic and sexual attraction in nontraditional ways, such as arosexual and aceromantic. thornspec also includes semi-sam identities!

'thorn' is intended to be an opposite of 'rose', a common shortening of 'romantic and sexual' in orientation terms, and carries the same floral theme as '-rose' and 'orchidspec'. for the flag, i took inspiration from the non-sam flag, using the same cream and teal, and added green and brown to represent thorns!

Semi-SAM flag

When one's application of the Split Attraction Model ( SAM ) to their identity is semi or partial, not completely Non-SAM or SAM. This semi or partial use of the SAM can be fluctuating or fluid based on individual factors ( such as prioritization of one or more identities without disregarding the other(s) )

The flag is a mix of this general Non-SAM flag and my general SAM flag, with grey in the middle to represent the semi or partial use of the SAM ( since grey is partially black and partially white ). Made for anon, who asked if there was a flag for this, because I couldn't find any existing one(s).

so im unlabeled but specifically as in i do feel some level of sexual attraction towards women but i dont want to label it as either acespec or allo. sexually im a lesbian but neither an ace nor an allo one. do you know of any terms for that type of unlabeled ? or just a better way to phrase it ?

I know schrö- which means being both a- and allo-. I can't remember myself a term that means being neither without being acespec. However, I know people who use non-SAM or semi-SAM (split attraction model) in the sense of being unlabeled sexually. Take a look in the term neu aro. Also, it's important to see that lesbian is an affinitive orientation, that doesn't specify how are you attracted nor the form of attraction (sexual, romantic, etc.).
