Even though my Chizuru × Sen fanfiction “Crimson Bonds” on AO3 is a romantic (and NSFW) work to the point that it ended up needing quite a lot of tags (75 tags) , I personally love Chizuru and Sen most as a platonic relationship in the games.
It genuinely hurts my heart that Chizuru grew up alone , raised by Kodo, who betrayed her. That’s why Sen’s care and concern for Chizuru in the game and anime means so much to me. The way Sen worries about her and stays by her side feels incredibly precious to me even when Chizuru has a male lover like Hijikata or Okita.
That bond, above all else, is what I cherish the most.
