Hypothetically, Katniss kills President Snow at the end. What happens?
Coin continues the Hunger Games indefinitely. It was never her intent to change anything but the person in power.

Hypothetically, Gale goes to the games instead of Peeta. What happens?
Like, he was reaped instead of Peeta, or he volunteered in his place?
If he was reaped, I can only assume that he wouldn't have allied with the careers, who would have still gotten tracker jacked, only without anyone there to save Katniss' life, she would have died there too. Gale would have then made an honest effort to win the games, but ends up killed by Thresh. Without Peeta there to pick his stupid berries, Foxface survives and wins the games.
