Adecco is currently hiring for a Senior Scientist for our Medical Manufacturing client in Ottawa West. As a member of the R&D group, you will be part of a team of Scientists and Engineers working on product development or product enhancement projects. You will work within the established design control process to develop and test products, design and implement experiments, conduct test protocols and prepare related technical documentation.
This position requires a solid knowledge of scientific principals and theories and the ability to implement these in a creative and effective manner. This is a one year contract with possibility of extension. Hourly rate of pay will be determined based on level of experience.
Senior Scientist Responsibilities:
Developing new products, systems, inventions and solve problems, and/or
Exploring opportunities to redesign existing products and systems to improve performance, reliability and manufacturability while reducing overall costs.
Senior Scientist Qualifications:
BSc physical sciences or engineering required; post-graduate degree preferred;
Minimum 3 years direct or related research experience, preferably in an industrial R&D setting, with electrochemical sensors, assay design, reagents, disposables and instrumentation development;
Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, as evidenced by the ability to organize experiments, interpret results, and draw conclusions;
Strong analytical laboratory skills; protocol design, technical writing skills are critical for this position;
Demonstrated strong background in statistics and data management;
Proficient software skills related to the manipulation, analysis and graphical summary of large data sets (experience with JMP@ and/or Minitab@ and MS Office Suite an asset);
Knowledge of FDA regulations for in vitro diagnostic manufacturer is an asset;
Knowledge of electrochemical sensor design, manufacture and performance is an asset;
Knowledge of Design Controls with respect to development of medical device products including but not limited to: Planning, Input, Output, Reviews, Verification, Validation, Transfer, Change Control and Design History File;
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a multi-departmental environment;
Strong verbal and written communication. Ability to read, critique and interpret scientific and medical literature;
