AYYYY, all readers of the ALBN series!

And pretty much also to the 90% of my followers that either don't know about it or don't care!

As some of you guys know, I've been running an Okami fanfiction series now known as A Lily Blooming in Nippon: REMIX (this crazy thing). This series has gone through countless hiatuses, plot changes, and huge jumps in writing skill. A few years back, I booted up a deviantART ask account for the protagonist, Lilac... and, well, the reboot of said account flopped. She's happy about it. Me? Not so much.

But this surprisingly isn't all about Li. Starting right now, ALBN:R will have an accompanying Tumblr blog that will double as an ask blog for the entire cast (that includes canon and non-canon characters!), and even triple (if that's a thing) as a dump site for text posts on the expanded lore of Nippon as I write through the experience. 

Hyped yet? No? Well, great news, my friend! Here's the scientific method to Senom's muse: more brain activity on a subject means more motivation for that subject. Therefore, the more time I spend thinking and expanding on the Nippon represented in ALBN:R, the more time I'll also want to spend writing about it. And the more time I spend writing about it, the more updates will be given for you guys! So, how about it? Drop the Okami cast (or Li, or Hal or Steve) a line, or just hang around for theories! There'll be a post very soon on all of the details that were added to the River of Stardust, the Cave of Nagi--basically everything touched on in the first three chapters. Have fun!

Hey, this may be a little bit late, but to all of my bros who have state testing or AP exams or finals or anything of the sort this week or in the next few weeks: Godspeed to you. Some of us are almost out of the woods for the school year, and some of us are dealing with crazy college schedules, but the fact of the matter is that the reality of my situation has hit me and that situation is that tomorrow's algebra exam isn't gonna be pretty.

And ayo, do not forget to:

- Eat good/big breakfasts on testing days! Your stomach growling like Mount Vesuvius decided to have another go isn't going to get you out of the testing room to go to lunch (whether you're still working or just waiting on the kids around you to finish so you can all haul behind), it's just going to make other kids give you weird looks.

- Sleep! These are not the nights to pull leisure or studying allnighters, whether you really want to or not! The high you get from being up for so long only lasts for so long, and nobody wants to crash, burn, and drool all over their ScanTron.

- Don't freak out! Whatever happens on this test will happen. I'm not sure about other exams, but the ones I take this week are standardized tests where twelve questions will be throwaway 'field questions'--don't panic just because a few questions look absurd or you're not quite sure. You could get lucky and those could be your lucky throwaways. That being said,

- Don't get cocky. Straight A's through the semester doesn't do you any good when you get to the test and realize that you don't remember half of the material or you forgot to study that specific information. Get comfortable with your subject. If you hate the class, well, find a way to make it comfortable. If you really need to cram information, write down formulas and mix them into lyrics of your favorite songs. Don't go in with zero study hours and expect to be announced as a top scorer with no exception.

- Reward yourself afterward! Nobody likes sitting in a silent room for hours with nothing but other breathing bodies and a paper packet, with the occasional calculator--unless you do, which is totally okay. But if you don't, reward yourself just for getting through the test. Don't stress out over what you made after you finish and hand it in, either--the results will be what they'll be. Worry about a milkshake or game of ball with your friends to celebrate your survival.

- You'll do fine! Breathe and just take the test.

Phew, this one took a few days to finish! Been awhile since I got a cover put together that I really was proud of.  So most of you know that I've been on one doozy of a Frozen high for the past few months. What you don't know is that my Spanish class offers extra credit for singing to the class in Spanish... which gives me an excuse to learn Disney songs. In Spanish. For every week.

After completing my main goal for the class last term (Libre Soy/Let It Go), I decided that since I've been into multilanguage videos of Disney songs lately and know three versions of the song, I'd try my hand at a "trilingual" cover. I'm very proud of how this one came out, even if some of the audio is a little unbalanced. Please listen with headphones/earbuds--the audio is split into left and right for several segments! I own nothing but my voice, and also apologize for any errors made in pronunciation. The original versions of this song (pop ed.) are "Let it Go" (Demi Lovato), "Libre Soy" (Martina Stoessel), and "Ari No Mama De" (May J). This cover was made purely for the fun of it.
