Books bearing enchantments are known to display some level of sentience, and often display a quirk or two that is related to their enchantment. These quirks are most commonly observed in books containing Curse of Vanishing and Curse of Binding.
Books containing Curse of Vanishing tend to, well, vanish. They always seem to disappear when one decides to transfer the curse to an item. The books vanish, and will hop from bookshelf to bookshelf in a library, storage chest to storage chest, or even home to home within a village. Often times wild goose chases break out when trying to find the missing books, and it is believed the books have the ability to even temporarily jump between dimensions. The disappearances are only temporary, though, as the book often returns to its original location just as the one searching for it is about to give up. They're playful, cursed little things.
Curse of Binding books have a much simpler quirk, as they refuse to open until after the curse has been transferred to an object. Some feel deterred by the book refusing to open, while others find the book's mysterious nature even more enticing, and choose to transfer the curse just to see what's inside of it.
Glovy (Companion Idea)
Here's one for you DM's that want some glove friend.
The players are walking about a clothing store & one of the items on sale is a single velvet lether glove which is price tag names a Glovy. It's price is a little on the high end for gloves. If the players go & decided to buy the glove the shop keeper will ask them if they really want it. If they do then then the shop keeper will sell it to them.
After about three days of having this glove, after a long rest it will come to life & start to walk about. If the glove notices the one who bough it, the glove will follow that person. At this point if anyone tries to put the glove on it will try & body slam (slap) them & run away giving them the 'no' finger waggle.
Cup heads aesthetics. Nothing to do with the indie game, Cuphead. It’s an experimentation before creating a new character who is another sentient object.
Thingy idea.
A human from a troubled family buys an old instrument (i was thinkin a bass or guitar) that is actually possessed by a fallen angel that is trying to get back into heaven by doing good deeds and. And they fall in love. And ascend together.
