Conjoined Twins Were in Hospital Over A Year to be Separated. You Should See Them Now…
It has been an exhausting, emotional, and stressful year for Bryan Mirabal and Michelle Brantley, but as they walked out of the hospital with one-year-old son Conner, there was nothing but smiles to be seen.
More than thirteen months after he was born, this formerly conjoined twin was headed home for the very first time.

As ABC News reports, Conner and his brother Carter were born via c-section in December 2014. Joined at the abdomen and sharing a liver and intestines, the boys underwent a series of surgeries to separate them.
Then became the long road to rehabilitation and a lengthy hospital stay.

During the past year, Bryan and Michelle say that they’ve only gotten to see each other when they fall into bed, exhausted, every night.
Michelle has been spending the days at the hospital with her sons while Bryan has been working two jobs to make ends meet.

Now that Conner is well enough to come home, Michelle says they’re looking forward to spending a bit more time together as a family.
“I have three jobs now,” Bryan happily told the Florida Times-Union. “Mechanic, cook, and dad.”
Brother Carter is only sixteen pounds to Conner’s twenty-two, but doctors say he’s doing well, and Bryan and Michelle are hopeful that it won’t be long before he’ll be home too.
“He’s actually thriving,” said one of the surgeons about Carter’s progress. “He just has a little bit more to go through.”
As Conner’s excited parents brought him home for the first time, Bryan already knew the first thing he was planning to teach his son.
“I’m an outdoorsman,” he told the Times-Union. “I’m going to take my boy outside and show him where I fish.”
