I made a headcanon for Hideaway v9, and I hope y'all like it 🥹 (tw: yapping.)
So we all know John Azoth is the leader of Vital-Force right? And that there used to be a team before team A, (which obviously had the known characters Tam and Alex yadayadayada) which was named team B. team B contained:
• Aronn Sawyer, who guarded the gateway.
• Chuck Chiffens, who went to the Aurora region.
• Donovan Elrichson, who went to the Volc region.
• Quinton Merry, who was the photographer of the team.
And then Reed Maxxus, who went to the Hydrus Region. What does this have to do with my headcanon though?
Let's go back to when I said John Azoth was the leader of the Vital-Force, since it was said in his document in Embers. If he is the leader, then who is this?
That doesn't look like John Azoth (obviously), but you know who it DOES look like? Tam Thatmen.
(^^ this picture is from Hideaway's second trailer in the youtube description) They are at the Hydrus region, but you know who ELSE could possibly be in the Hydrus region? Reed Maxxus. It was said he even went radio silent! He didn't die like most of the members, he simply disappeared. It's unknown if he died or not.
With the name "The Leader" when we know John Azoth is the leader (Of Vital-Force at least), and with that hat, it could be Tam. But let's get to my headcanon before I look crazy 💔
My headcanon is that John, who (probably) remembers his old team, and the random disappearance of Reed, still felt too guilty from most of the members of his team dying when he couldn't do anything about it. With the stress of everything happening like with the fakers back at the facility and the new grudge with Tam and Alex, what if he couldn't handle being the leader? Being a leader means big responsibility for your team.
Since we seen Tam show his care for Dallas after he killed his own brother, what if John decided that it was too much for him and made HIM the leader instead? Which is why he is named "The leader". He shows care for Dallas while he is in his lowest point, and he is the Vital-Force's ears and eyes. He is very helpful! And with that whole situation with Arther back at Aqua, he can accomplish many things.
