- The Boy Next Door - (A/B/O Soulmates Verse)
-starter for @c-onstantheadache-
In a tall building in a busy town, curious eyes watched the world from behind a pair of black curtains in the window of an apartment on the fith floor. This curiosity had been sparked by the news that the person that the Grayson girl would be getting a new neighbor and there were both good and bad sides to this in Casey's opinion. It would be good because her last neighbor had been a total asshole and played his shitty music to loud all the time. On the flipside this new person could be just as bad. She didn't know them and the unfamiliarity made her anxious. Change was never comfortable.
Her blue grey eyes wandered the busy city streets only today was different than most because a big moving truck sat in the way of the moving people causing them to seperate and move around it. It reminded Casey of ants in colony. Still, the black haired girl didn't watch long enough to see anyone but the movers get out. She hadn't the time if she didn't want to eat a burned lunch. Returning to the stove, Casey continued to cook her meal which to others could seem a bit over the top for lunch. Not that she cared. There was never a bad time to make a good old fashioned Romainian meal.
Casey had just plated her rice with meat and gravy when she heard footsteps pounding up the straircase. Likely it was the movers carrying something that couldn't fit in the elevator, which Casey could also hear making it's way up the shaft. Just to confirm her suspisions she proped open her door and peaked out ever so slightly to watch. Sure enough around ten minutes later two large wolves came struggling through the stairway with a large couch. She hummed momentarily in confromation before turning to shut the door. However she was stopped by the ding of the elevator.
Just as Casey turned back to the hall the doors of the elevator opened and an incredibly intoxicating scent overwhelmed her senses. Everything in her tensed and she stood frozen in the doorway. It was like the whole world had stopped and it felt as if fear had flooded every part of her as she watched a handsome boy her age walk out of the elevator. Casey could hear his heart beat, she had his scent, and all she could think to do was run. Immediately she slammed the door shut and pressed her back to the wall holding her chest in panic. Her heart was going a million miles an hour and suddenly she didnt feel hungry anymore. This couldnt be happening.
Casey's mind raced and her face paled. Her breathing grew erratic and she dropped her plate to rush to her room. It felt like she couldn't breathe. Everything was different now. 'No. No this can't be happening...I...I'm not ready....he wont want me....he's not mine..' Her wolf whined at her thoughts and pleaded her to go greet him but her body was stronger than her mind. She would panic in silence.
