And so I... So, our rotting floor. I am sure you craved me once before; When I think of all the fruit I've found, And how easily you left it on the ground.

Gast/Sephiroth
Drabbly stuff. Because I need to write more feelsy Seph.
[This bit was inspired by crimson-sun's fantastic Gast/Ifalna/Seph art - I can't find the direct link to the specific art post at the moment because I am scatter-brained as ever, but I will add it if I can locate it.]

“I’ll send for you, Sephiroth,” Gast had promised. “Once Ifalna and I are settled – “
“Are you going to marry her?” Sephiroth had asked bluntly, and Gast had chuckled at the young boy’s forthrightness.
“It has been discussed,” Gast said mysteriously, beckoning him closer. “Can you keep a secret?”
Sephiroth shrugged his shoulders and nodded. Gast reached into the pocket of his white lab coat and pulled out a small velveteen box; he popped it open and quickly showed Sephiroth the contents. As one would expect, a dainty looking ring sat inside; a white gold setting that held two center stones – aquamarine and blue topaz, surrounded by a flurry of tiny little diamonds.
“It’s an engagement ring,” Gast told Sephiroth, smiling happily. Gast was puzzled when the boy frowned; was he displeased by this news? He thought Sephiroth and Ifalna got on well together. In fact, it had been her idea to have Sephiroth join them in their new home, although both Gast and Ifalna knew that Hojo might object.
“A ring. Hm…that’s not very original, though, is it?” Sephiroth replied. Gast had burst out laughing, and ruffled Sephiroth’s hair.
“I suppose it's not. I love how you think, Sephiroth,” Gast said warmly. He stood up, straightening out his lab coat, and gave the little boy a half-hug. “Now, listen to Professor Hojo while I’m gone, and don’t you forget about me, Sephiroth…or Miss Ifalna, she misses you very much. We’ll all be together again very soon, I promise.”
I won’t forget…
