A snake? Was it a monster? Frisk wasn’t sure. They had never actually seen a snake monster during all their time in the Underground so far, but they didn’t doubt that one probably existed. They never had a chance to really explore New Home, after all, so maybe there could have been snake monsters there.
If this really was a monster, though... Their eyes narrowed. They gripped their knife tighter. Kill it. After all, wasn’t death better than suffering in an empty, dust-filled timeline? Frisk would be doing the snake a favour by ending their life now. So they stepped forward and swung at Sephnit.

"W-WHATEVER YOU D-DO, DO NOT F-FILL U-UP A 'SSSSSUPER BIG GULP' CUP WITH F-FIVE HOUR ENERGY A-AND CHUG TH-THE WHOLE THING. MY H-HEART HAS EITHER SS-SSSSSTOPPED C-COMPLETELY OR ISSSSS B-BEATING SSSSSO FASSSSST THAT I-I CAN’T FEEL M-MY OWN PULSE." Did I say subtly? I meant the opposite of that, because this snake bleeping is wired.

Hearing the rustling from outside, Kris had initially just assumed it was a forest animal that had gotten into town again, so they got a little surprised to hear Sephnit’s shaky voice from out the window. They calmed down soon enough, as they looked up from what they were doing and listened to him.
Wow. They sounded like they needed a doctor. A super big gulp filled with five hour energy, huh? They couldn’t even feel their heart anymore? In all honesty, Kris thought that sounded awesome. “Nice.” They commented. “Gonna do that now.” Then they promptly got to their feet and jumped out the window.

Kris didn’t like the silence either. But there was really nothing they could do about it, at least, as far as they thought. They had nothing to really talk about, and they weren’t great at thinking up conversation topics. For the most part, they usually only liked silence when it was comfortable, and that was usually the case around the friends they knew for a while. They didn’t mind it in those moment. But with Sephnit, they just felt really awkward right now. Still, they didn’t dare say anything, not feeling in the mood for speaking in the first place. It certainly was a struggle.
Their internal conflict never really showed up in their expression, though, staying at the same neutral look it had always been. They couldn’t bring themselves to look at Sephnit either, during the entire time they fussed over the quiet. When the snake finally spoke up, Kris looked at them. “...Yeah. I know.” They responded. But then they didn’t know what else to say, so they clammed up soon after that.

Kris pondered for a moment, looking at the snake as they lowered themselves on the ground as they asked for those oats. The human’s lips were pressed into a thin line as they contemplated. They ultimately shrugged, “I don’t have any. Sorry.”
