Ooooh, I do want to hear about 'september house' and 'reincarnated king arthur', please!
September House looked, more than anything, like it was built to be a reasonably-sized family home, but had decided to stack a half dozen extra stories on top of itself somewhere along the way, and became categorized as a mansion solely through height and sheer force of will. Seven floors, all identical from the outside, with an attic at the top, and a cellar below. An absolute nightmare on the knees, many residents and guests would agree over the years. Most just wondered what, exactly, Wallace Kinley had been thinking when he designed his home with so many goddamned stairs.
september house is a horror novella that's had about six different plots since the original idea. right now it's a lot of disconnected scenes in a document that gets added to every once and a while. the consistent details are the ghosts, a general theme hovering around the legacy of colonialism, and the main character, Tad, a child so desperate for fantastical stuff to happen to him that he's determined to be chill about his new home being extremely, terrifyingly haunted.
aaaand...
i don't have a snippet to give you for the reincarnated king arthur story, but like. tfw you're a single dad, and your new friend from work turns out to be merlin??? yeah, that one. merlin (ok, sure) drops all this magical chosen one bullshit in your lap, and tells you that your beloved teenage failson was actually the person who killed you in your previous life, and. you feel like you didn't need to know that, actually.
and your aforementioned son wants you to "be cool for once dad oh my god," and take the sword and the quest and go with merlin, but you CAN'T, because you have WORK, and he has SCHOOL, and also aren't Chosen Ones supposed to be like,, athletic 16-22 year olds??? your back is not going to fucking forgive you for dark-souls-somersaulting around a fucking... what is that. is that a dragon. FUCK.
