Well, Ches had managed to see the other two North children she adored since their father’s disappearance but there was one in particular that she hadn’t been lucky enough to run into to check on. And maybe it was crossing a line to check in on Serenity, but she was worried... and so, she figures it wouldn’t hurt. She could always try to pass it off as an accidental run in, bumping into her when running errands or something. But then she sees the girl, and she can’t help but throw away her plans. “Hey Ser. I know we’re not supposed to talk, but- would you mind if we- please?”
Why was she so nervous? It was Serenity of all people. Even if the girl rejected her offer, she could understand exactly why. It’d be understandable. So why was Ches stammering?
