Poem: "I ask the sea", by Seraphine Saintclair.

I immediately thought of andromaquynh when I saw this.

The imagery of love being inextricably woven into the soul, of them being irreversibly tangled up in one another's roots and very being, even when some part of them might no longer want to be, feels very true of them. As does the sense of hope enduring, despite loss and destruction, and of memories lingering through all that grief.

And of course the last part of the poem is so painfully apt 😭😭

I ask the sea

What is eternity?

The sea says

A single aching breath
