Tanefrun smiled as Tralaia was brought up. “She’s very sweet! I could probably say this for... most of the Circle as is, but Tralaia feels like another parent to me. I also admire her skill with the bow!” The young ranger nodded. “Tralaia and I don’t talk much, but whenever we do, it’s always a fun time. I especially like to remember the time back when we camped in Stonetalon. I really want to get to know her more.”

25: What are your plans for your muse in the future?

25: What are your plans for your muse in the future?That’s the thing. I really don’t know to be exact! Everything is very fluid at the moment, but I’ll share some bullet points that I shared with some friends earlier in the month in regards to Tanefrun’s emotional and mental health throughout the coming expansion! :^)

Tanefrun basically ended up as a child soldier on her own will throughout the course of Legion with the ulterior motive of searching for her father

At this point, she is a bit numb to war and killing and death to a certain degree

PTSD is definitely going to be--and currently is--an issue for her, considering all the stuff she had to endure on the Broken Shore in the aforementioned effort of finding her father and hunting/killing demons

And thus, as she grows older I feel as if she’ll grow to become more detached and because of that I’ll have to adapt to that sort of writing style for her character --> And seeing how that will affect her relationships with the people she already knows

Before the Burning of Teldrassil, Tanefrun was practically (although still is to a degree) chaotic neutral, carefree, didn’t really care about much, just wanted to explore the world on her own terms. But now that we’re in BfA and Tanefrun’s life has been turned upside down in such a drastic measure for the second time in her life, Tanefrun has lost the entire continent that she has called home, and once more she will feel like she has lost everything. 

Also because of the Burning, you and other members of the Silver Circle have seen Tanefrun start to break down, because Teldrassil felt like a catalyst for her to realize that war is fucked up, and for her to realize that “Hey this is Fucked Up. I did a lot of Fucked Up Stuff throughout last year. This isn’t Normal” and all that. And thus, in conclusion, Tanefrun never got the chance to actually be a kid because from day one it was survive or die for her.

Noble: Your character is invited to the equivalent of a red carpet event. What do they wear?

This has been in my ask box for a while but here we go.

Yserdrel isn’t one for dressing elaborately so I think she’d try to go for a subtle type of elegance. Maybe a long dress in a deep shade of blue. (alternatively: she wouldn’t go at all because she hates those environments)

Y’Sorah is the one out of all three of my elf ladies that would go all out. We’re talking the highest most expensive looking heels you’ve ever seen, her dress probably has lace and strategically placed cutouts to accentuate her figure.

Natyl’ir is a mix between the two. She doesn’t see the point in fancy cut outs and high heels but she also doesn’t see the point in dressing down. Instead of wearing a dress, she’d wear a suit instead. Replacing the loafers with a nice set of heels and maybe unbuttoning a few of the buttons on her shirt.

Heya Annakie! I just started playing Pillars of Eternity as an elven ranger. Any tips for a first time player? Thanks! <3

Hey!  I’m so sorry, I’m kind of distracted right now but I hope this helps! :)

First of all, you can ignore all the static “named” NPCs around, I forget what color their names are, but they’re all some certain color and all they do is give you a little “backstory” when you click on them?  Also all the gravestones.  Those were all kickstarter rewards.  I think there’s a mod to disable those things because hoo boy they get annoying to navigate around.

Second of all, there’s so much text in this game, it almost feels like a novel.  The main thing is to pay attention to the animancy stuff / the souless babies stuff and your dreams/flashbacks.  All the stuff related to you being a watcher.  Also stuff dealing with gods.  It may be good to check a wiki or something to relate yourself with these things especially who the gods are.   Eothas and his storyline, especially.

Also Eder and Aloth’s backstories both deal with some really important issues.  Eder’s in particular.   Durance is pretty involved with the gods storylines but he is just the fucking worst companion ever personality wise.  Pallagrina, Eder and Aloth all are also companions in the second game so you may want to have them hang out with you a lot.  Some of the others show up but none of them travel with you.  Anyway, you should have them all along enough to get through their backstories and sidequests.

I don’t really have a lot of tips dealing with fighting or game mechanics.  Build your keep when you get it as much as possible, tbh there’s not a lot you NEED to spend gold on otherwise.  I played a Chanter both times through so I can’t really help with the ranger question.  :)

I really love the Pillars of Eternity games.  The world is very cool and the storyline is different than what you’d expect, and there are some pretty big choices to make.  Hope this helps!

Tanefrun is somewhere in the middle, to tell the truth! Though it all depends on who she’s with. Those she’s comfortable with know that she can be very loud and expressive when she’s not bogged down. As of late, with the events and context of BfA, she’s been somewhat hopeless. So her personality is in tandem with that she often shows to outsiders and/or people she doesn’t know. Relatively reserved, and only expressive when the moment demands it.

...I think you would know this from firsthand account, but Tanefrun HAAATES being the center of attention unless completely necessary. She’s content to just watch from the sidelines.

8: How is/was your OC’s relationship with their parents?

Natyl’ir held some resentment towards her parents for leaving her to raise her sisters while they went off to war. As an adult, she knows the resentment was foolish, but overall had a decent relationship with both of them. 

Y’Sorah had a very close relationship with her father as she never knew her mother. Growing up, she was determined to impress her father with her talent in magic. She was torn when he died but she’s since come to terms with it and regularly visits his grave.

Yserdrel had a rocky relationship with her mother as she didn’t really know her father. Her mother was disappointed with her when she took up archery over devoting herself to the temple and elune to become a priestess. 

30: What makes your OC defensive quickest?

Natyl’ir: When someone tells her she hasn’t done enough for her family or claims they know her better than she knows herself.

Y’Sorah: When someone tells her she’s weak or that her family deserved what happened to them.

Yserdrel: When somebody tells her she hasn’t done enough for those close to her.
