With exams right around the corner and warm weather, it is difficult to stay focused. Maybe a little break wouldn’t be so bad? With the Great Tree Moon in session, trees’ leaves have turned a pastel pink. A little ways out of monastery grounds lies a large tree pink with leaves and… ribbons? A petite merchant with a sack twice her size informs you these ribbons are people’s wishes and hopes tied to the trees ribbons. She goes on and on about fate and destined love. She pushes a pink ribbon your way, insisting you give it a whirl. What’s the worst that could happen? [Grants Faith +1]
Warm weather was finally cutting through the lasting gloom hanging over the monastery. A northern breeze had begun to carry pale petals over Garreg Mach, and droves of students had taken the short walk to find the source of the pastel showers.
It was surely a sight to behold; Eldigan had never seen a tree so large, nor sprout such delicate blooms.
‘They only last a single week.’ A young girl trills beside him.
Eldigan is pulled from his reverie and looks to the lady addressing him. ‘Poetic for th’ Great Tree Moon, don’tcha think?’
He softens, and muses back, “A time of new beginnings, and fleeting transience.” He looks up to the tree again, a seed of hope sowing within. Maybe he too could let go of the regrets of his own Lone Moon. “Winter has fled, and a fresh start is in the air.”
The girl throws an arm around Eldigan’s shouder’s before gesturing closer at the branches. ‘Y’see all those ribbons? Wishes for the comin’ year. Promises of young lovers to hold each other close for another spring.’
Eldigan exhales dismissively. “You misunderstand me, milady. I’m a- married man.”
‘All the more reason to make a wish for you and your love.’ She says with a wink, reaching into her bag and pulling out the same sort of ribbon hanging from the tree. Placing it into his hand. ‘Send up a little prayer for your lady.’
The lord stares down at the silken ribbon, in something like curious wonder.
