Vampires Will Never Hurt You (But I Make No Promises About Zombies): Gerard clenches his fists tighter. "It's a disease," he says defensively.
You Only Hear the Music When Your Heart Begins to Break: Frank has high school figured out. His mom has given up arguing about the amount of time he spends in Gerard's basement, and he doesn't actually care if people think it's weird that he and Gerard hold hands in the hallways and go to the bathroom together. The only thing Frank cares about is figuring out why Gerard's suddenly avoiding him -- because what's the point of losing your virginity on Prom Night if you can't tell your best friend about it in the morning?
Gerard's not sure why the guy on the badminton team keeps trying to skewer him with a crossbow. After all, Gerard hasn't killed any of his friends, or even his host brother. But when you're in high school you don't really need a reason to kill someone, just whatever weapon is at hand, and five minutes to get the job done. At least Gerard is good at knowing when to duck. Better he get attacked than his friends. If he can just keep ducking for three years, he can graduate and live the rest of his life. Unfortunately, even those that make it out alive can never forget. After all, the past is never through with you.
Written for the yobrothatssick challenge, prompt #9 - High School AU. Frank's spending the afternoon in the nurse's office YET AGAIN, until his mom can get off work and pick him up. Gerard's the new kid and shows up (drunk, not that the nurse notices) and claims the other bed. GO!
Frank just wants to brush people's hair. When you're in high school though, nothing is ever that easy.
There are clear benefits to going to a private school, and the administrators thinking being rid of Gerard isn't worth the lost income of kicking him out is only the least of it.
Gerard gets called stupid crap all the time. Why should Frank care?
