Now, you people who have seen my TMNT Musical! AU posts are probably wondering.
"Sev. I'm here for some banger music. Where is our banger music?" And to that I say.
I don't know how to write music. I also only have a ukulele (that I don't know how to play) And a keyboard (that I don't know how to play) however, I got some banger lyrics.
Also, the tune. I got the tune for all the songs I have made this far memorized.
hey sev, could you elaborate on what TERFs mean with the cis/white women to avoid criticism post? I fail to see how it's TERF rhetoric, aside from being posted by a TERF. or is it just harmful because it might lead to people following them?
It's because 1. TERFs should NEVER be platformed and
2. When they say misogyny, ask yourself how they define that? How do they define "men"? Who do they define out of womanhood? The truth is this post is one big old dog whistle! Easy for TERFS to hear (read) but seemingly innocent to the untrained ear (eye)
The "leftist men" being referenced here are very likely actually transfemmes or anyone who calls out their transphobia! In addition, this post is fucking racist!
Dismissing someone criticizing you for being racist because they're "a man" or "leftist" is SUPER fucking suspicious.
When we approach feminism as intersectional, and we talk about cis white women, we don't do it to "avoid criticism" we do it because there are flavours of feminism, like Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminism, that are by and large harmful because they are dominated by white cisgender voices (these spaces also tend to be anti black AF) who view their own experiences as the peak of gender based oppression because they were born with a pussy and white privledge.
This post, I think, is also a great example of how the concept of "white tears" can be applied, by white tears I mean the tendancy of specifically cis white women to cry/get upset when faced with the fact that being a woman doesn't mean they can't be transphobic, homophobic, racist or otherwise bigoted.
The tactic is designed to deflect the discomfort that arises from being called out by centering oneself as in immediate need of support in emotionally regulating, thus grinding the ACTUAL criticisms to a halt in favour of cater to her emotions.
It's something sooooooo many women I know still do, and something I personally had to break myself out of doing as it was something I picked up when I was younger without realizing.
Sometimes I miss the SuperWhoLock Mishapocalypse fandomstuck era, like damn would they be entertaining in these trying times
