I get so much psychic damage when I see people eagerly theorize that Gemma was a plant or a liar or in cahoots with Lumon to fuck Mark over. Like. This woman tried to escape. She sobbed crying for her husband. She is literally being tortured all day every day by a rich white pharma company. She is going to be fucking executed once they run out of experiments.

it actually would be racist to write a fridged (+infertile) south asian woman as mark’s wife who is being tortured in the basement of a multibillion dollar pharma company by white doctors and exists only to be killed again for the narrative progression of her white husband’s emotional state and the relationship he has with the white (+not infertile) woman who is partially a good person and partially complicit in the torture of his south asian wife

i am not going to ignore the racist undertones of all the people violently hoping for the white couple ending up together and riding off into the sunset after gemma dies again “because gemma living doesn’t make narrative sense” like sorry if it hurts your feelings but hoping a woman of color dies after years of torture so that your white couple ends up together is racist :)

(and you know that which is why so many people are halfheartedly shipping her with devon, so they can get rid of her nonsensically without having to deal with the fact that they just want her out of the way so a milquetoast white couple can end up in love)
