SF Decorator Showcase 2016: Ann Lowengart
Va-va-voom: San Francisco-based interior designer Ann Lowengart put together a pretty pink bedroom in this year’s SF Decorator Showcase, and she chose several lovely Chairish pieces to create her dreamy space! Ann worked with Revitaliste, which provides full-service furniture revitalization. Together, they gave these classic pieces a little TLC, and made them over to be full-blown show-stoppers.
The San Francisco Decorators Showcase is open from April 30 through Memorial Day, May 30. They’ve chosen some of the best designers on the West Coast to transform an exquisite Mediterranean-style home near San Francisco’s famed Coit Tower. The Showcase, which began in 1977, benefits the San Francisco University High School (UHS) Financial Aid Program.
Ann, who has been featured in publications like Traditional Home and California Home + Design, is known for her ability to create environments that exude comfort and sophistication, while incorporating elements of whimsy. To create the ultimate little girls’ room in pink, Ann chose two headboards, side tables, and a lovely accent chair from Chairish to be the focal points.
Revitaliste does all aspects of furniture revitalization, including upholstery, wood finishing and lacquering. They also do some fun faux and decorative finishes, use wallpaper on some pieces, and more.
Here’s Ann’s beautiful hickory nightstand being revitalized and distressed:
Revitaliste wallpapered the piece in Designers Guild ‘Rasetti’ wallpaper in Scarlet, and sealed it with high gloss lacquer.
Ann and Revitaliste opted to do a striped fabric to make this Hollywood Regency Accent Chair pop even more. They lacquered it in high gloss Benjamin Moore ‘Peony,’ and reupholstered it in Robert Allen ‘Alpenglow.’
And finally the lovely twin headboards! These beauties were reupholstered in Robert Allen ‘Quick Flash’ in Fuchsia, with a contrast welt in Saffron ‘Fine Chenille.’
