"Get up! It's morning!"

Elliott cringed as the covers were unceremoniously pulled off of him. Morning was a concept that he refused to accept – he’d put in his time as a barista, working sunrise shifts to accommodate the coffee shop’s schedule, but those days were long since gone. “Not morning here,” he grumbled, and turned his face into the pillow.
“You’re right,” Dennis agreed impatiently. “It’s actually closer to noon. And you’ve got a meet and greet at two, then an interview with the local news, then sound check. And I’m not gonna let you just not eat today.”
Noon? Elliott rubbed at his eyes as he turned onto his back, looking up at his bandmate standing over him with a stern look that didn’t seem to fit his face at all. “You’re so fucking cute when you’re trying to mom me,” he laughed, shaking his head. “Coffee?”
“Is already brewing,” Dennis replied, waving towards the tiny coffee pot on the hotel room desk. “Go on. Room service is gonna be here by the time you get out of the shower. And I’m not trying to ‘mom’ you!” he added, as though he only just realized what Elliott had said. “Moms don’t – y’know – what we did – they don’t,” he finished lamely, a blush creeping up his cheeks in place of the words he couldn’t find.
“I know one mom who might beg to differ,” Elliott challenged, with a dark chuckle. But he was up now. He was up. He pressed a sweet kiss to Dennis’s lips, then stood up and stretched. Last night had been pretty indecent, even by his own standards, which was saying something. “So, wise keeper of the schedule,” he asked, as he poured himself a cup of coffee, “is there room in today’s books to call Adam and Ryder?”
“Only if you hurry now,” Dennis said. “I’ll text ‘em to make sure they’re both there. Otherwise it won’t be til after the show.”
“Alright, alright,” Elliott agreed, putting one hand in the air to surrender, and passed his mug to Dennis with the other. “Coffee’s yours, shower’s mine, I’ll be out in ten.”
“Bet it’ll be twenty.”
“Ten!” Elliott promised, leaving his underwear behind him as he headed for the shower.
