 Well, I'm not good at people. At getting close. I'm not, not anymore, not after that; I probably never will be. But at least I know; as long as I can feel, as long as that hum is there I'm not really alone. Even when I am."

Shaelan: 7: how they like to dress, 15: how they react to a brainfreeze Rhiainnon: 13: their embarrassing memory from years ago, 16: their dreams

7. How they like to dress:  In general Shaelan isn’t too particular. Her main criteria is that she be able to move in it comfortably. She does lean toward typical sylvari fashion slightly more than anything else but she is fascinated by human style clothing and has no problem mixing that in from time to time especially if it has some flow to it (oow medium) or has a nature feel to it like the carapace gear. She loves color too but seems to always end up in something predominately purple no matter what I do. I put her in some orange last night; it didn’t go over well. ;)  

 Aside from that she has a lot of scars and while she used to not even think about what skin was showing for the past year or so she’s done everything she can to conceal as much of herself as possible. If there’s no one around she has no problem with her arms being bare but if someone came up to talk to her they would find her quickly folding her arms up and, if at all possible, tucking them between her legs and her chest to hide them. She does realize that this is an issue she needs to overcome and she’s taking slow steps to do so; she’s wearing a top at the moment that shows some of her stomach, it’s scarred as well but she feels far less exposed showing a strip of that than the entirety of her arms.

15. How they react to a brain freeze: If this is going to happen it’s always going to be when she’s starting to talk or right in the middle of a sentence so … Lips parted for whatever the next word was going to be she would freeze up, go a little distant and having most likely lost the thought completely that blank expression would be overtaken by a bashful smile, a lot of blushing and her looking down at the ground or turning her head away from whomever she was speaking to in an attempt to hide herself for a moment without actually running away.

13. Their embarrassing memory from years ago: In the scheme of things even for sylvari Rhiainnon isn’t very old so I don’t have anything that happened too long ago. Rhiainnon is also someone who doesn’t get embarrassed very easily. When others would be embarrassed she just ends up laughing at herself. She has over the course of her life done embarrassing things but she either didn’t realize she should have been embarrassed, didn’t understand why people thought she should be, or she simply didn’t care! I think, for the most part, that she’s only embarrassed other people; namely with her inquiries on reproductive matters to members of the other races. And the fact that she’s taking literal notes of their responses, however flustered. When she does finally manage to embarrass herself (and trust me, she will) I’ll be sure to let you know! ;)

16. Their dreams:  I wasn’t sure if you meant “hopes and dreams” or sleeping dreams and then I realized that they’re pretty much the same for this girl so it doesn’t really matter! Rhiainnon dreams of healing and that’s all she’s ever really said to anyone in part because she’s not sure how to explain what she really means and in part because she’s still figuring out the details herself. She’s a mender, of course, one with adventurous leanings. Unlike so many other menders she’s made a point of learning all she can about healing the other races of Tyria; she still has a ways to go but she’s talented and a quick study. When she stops. Because she’s always moving; she says you can’t learn everything there is to learn by sitting still after all! But deep down there’s a drive to find what she’s really supposed to be healing. Her dreams of the future both waking and sleeping are not just taking care of the races and creatures of the world but of healing the very land itself. Somewhere that’s needed still. She just doesn’t know where yet. But she’ll know it when she finds because she’s seen it before and whenever she closes her eyes it’s there.

8) during what cycle were they born? 14) what did they see in their Dream? 17) do they have a favorite major city?

(I hope you don’t mind if I answer for both girls!)

8.  Rhiainnon was born during the cycle of Dawn while Shaelan was born during the cycle of Noon. 

14. Rhiainnon saw a lot of pain and destruction; she woke with a burning drive to help and heal because of this. But while other sylvari focus solely on their own race she knows she’s supposed to do more. Rhiainnon doesn’t think she’s meant to heal sylvari alone but everything and everyone she comes across that seems to need it. But at the end of it all among all of this pain and destruction in her dream she wound up in a dark and barren landscape; she remembers ash and smoke, she also remembers how sad it made her and how determined and that, after plunging her hand into the barren ground she made something green begin to grow. She doesn’t assume this is literal necessarily but this place and this situation are out there and she’s driving herself toward them healing everything that needs it and working very, very hard on her elemental magic on the way. 

Shaelan on the other hand saw fighting and she saw dragons; different races fighting and dying together to save one another from much worse things. She saw far off places, more than she could count on one hand. Fighting and talking and wandering. She’s not entirely sure what this means she should do but has assumed she’s meant to be a soldier or a nomad or some weird mix of the two. Unfortunately a run in with the NMC a while ago threw a wrench both in any plans she might have had and in figuring them out. But she’s working her way around to it. At least she’s trying to. And while she figures things out she pulls up a very random image from her dream of fishing. 

17. Rhiainnon hasn’t really seen any cities yet but she is very anxious to! 

 Shaelan will probably always prefer the Grove because it’s beautiful and it’s peaceful and it’s home. But she loves Lions Arch - she loved the old arch; it was exciting and interested and there were so many smells and new things - the re-build is fascinating because the bulidings look like things they’re not; it’s also not as messy but she’s not sure that’s a good thing. And she is in awe of Dinity’s Reach because of the architecture and the wall and the “aquarium you can walk through.” She thinks it’s beautiful. So there are places that she likes a whole, whole lot but the Grove is probably always going to be at the top of her list.
