every time ccla(i)re uses an angel metaphor from now on--and after three books in which they are very frequent i have no reason to believe she'll stop--i'm gonna imagine ophanim

and book three (was this supposed to be a trilogy originally? it feels like it was meant to be a trilogy) ends in the only way it could:

Simon was sitting on the edge of a low wall with Maia beside him, though she appeared to be deep in conversation with Aline. "You'll look like Olivia Newton-John in Xanadu." "There are worse things," Magnus observed.

WORD, magnus. who wouldn't want to look like this

well this is an excellent start to the Magnus Fashion Watch, possibly my favourite thing about these books

well i am not THRILLED about the sloppily-justified over-margined pdf i just found

but at least it has PUNCTUATION

okay book three is on hold for the time being

as the copy i have

is completely lacking apostrophes, quotation marks, and dashes/hyphens

i don't want books reminiscent of THAT kind of bad fanfic ok

that's book two done. would have finished sooner if not for other life stuff getting in the way. probs won't tackle #3 just yet, i need some recharge time in between each one i think, lest too much concentrated Plot Thickening overwhelms me
