The Hindu deity Shani, associated with the planet Saturn, as the personification of Saturn, is said to possess a powerful and intense gaze. His glance is believed to bring delays, obstacles, hardship, or karmic consequences. This is a reason to why Shani depicted looking downwards, to avoid causing undue harm. There’s tale (Brahma‑Vaivarta) where Shani went to the birth of Ganesha, which he wasn’t initially invited to but he managed to be there anyways. Shani came and just a glanced at Ganesha and…well, it ended with Ganesha having no head on his body. There’s also a tale (Skanda Purana) where his father, Surya (the Sun god), insulted him at birth and he looked at his father in anger, which resulted in Surya’s radiance dimming from his gaze. Some sources claim his light was extinguished temporarily. Which I found interesting because it’s usually Surya that has an overwhelming effect due to his brilliance but Saturn is the greater malefic while Sun is more so a mild malefic.

Note: Saturn’s special aspects (Drishti) is 3rd, 7th and 10th houses from itself. However all of the seven grahas aspect the 7th house from itself as well, except Rahu and Ketu according to some Vedic astrologers.

The eyes are the window to the soul and Sun is the karaka of the soul, Surya’s the personification of the Sun and if Shani has that much of an debilitating effect on Surya then it really shows how heavily Saturn can weigh on the soul itself. Also in an astrological sense, Saturn aspecting or conjunct the Sun would place its restrains on Sun’s expression, which can manifest as an actual inability to express one’s own identity, lack of confidence on who you are at a core level, shyness and also reserved when it comes to that solar aspect. However, it’s Saturn so, it can be overcome and improve with time and effort but an obstacle nonetheless (Saturn does grant great rewards though). Interestingly, the only other planet that I know of that can also do this to Sun is Rahu, which eclipses Sun.

However, that’s not necessarily the main point of this post. The purpose is to bring our attention to the eyes of people who have Saturn prominently placed in their chart, just to observe them and see what you pick up from that. Just curious to see if myth translate into real life, as it does in film, which it’s starting to seem to be a reoccurring case but confirmation is always nice. I have two at the moment. Angelina Jolie for instance, she had orchestrated a staring contest with various cast members from the marvel film Eternals. They’ll sit across from each other until one of them blinked. Most, if not all of them failed and one of them couldn’t even last for a second. Another person also conducted a starring contest as well, the artist Marina Abramovic, who has Anuradha as sun and Aquarius moon. In her case, it wasn’t celebrities, but strangers who came in. All of them failed, had different reactions, and some cried. It was until her ex-lover, Ulay (who has an Anuradha sun) entered and participated, she actually had a reaction and cried. Prior to that she had no reaction and more so others were reacting to her. It’s an interesting turn of events to see occur.

That’s the end of today’s Ted-Talk on Saturn and what a perfect day to discuss this planet. It’s Saturday, the day ruled by Saturn. That brings Shinji and Asuka so much joy! No more chilling at the curb with the raccoons. On a half serious note, Saturn’s gaze came to mind during one of my writing escapades and had me thinking, and when I’m thinking, things happen. Saturn also represents ignorance. The house it's placed in would be filled with its darkness, misleading fallacies, and even temptations. You may feel chained to this aspect of life and always wonder why you can't succeed or escape (E.g. Is there an actual purpose behind your actions in this area? What exactly are you looking for here?). It's a slow death that you can't even recognise. Just be detached when engaging with it; don't attach too much of yourself to it. Do what you have to do but don't invest your identity (or self-worth) too much there. Just remember that you're beyond all of it. That's how you overcome it and change for the better. While pointing out the "imperfections" and "dangers" of other planets, we fail to acknowledge Saturn's vices. There's a reason why the most obsessive nakshatra is actually Anu-Radha, which is ruled by Saturn in the Vimshottari system. (More so than Ketu, Saturn is deeply connected to Scorpio. Ketu is renunciation and Rahu is renewal but Saturn is actual transformation. It's the karaka of the 8th House. It could ruin you completely if you don't exercise caution but you'd only have yourself to blame because everyone loves Saturn right now.)

Edit: I forgot to mention something else that's important. When obstacles present themselves, just knock them down mindfully and meticulously. Do it like Mars, the dutiful soldier, who stays detached and moves on to the next with determination. Mars heals Saturn. Just be patient and don't lose hope in troubling times.

Color Sliders Compatible Contacts for all my eye sets!

Happy Halloween! All of my contact eye sets are now compatible with the in-game color sliders! Only the iris will change when you use the sliders, rather than the entire eye texture. There are inherent limitations to this, and it works better on some swatches than others, but theoretically this should allow you to create any eye color that you want!

You do not need the separate color sliders mod for this.

Was at the dentist today and oh my god the process of going to the dentist and getting your teeth worked on and dentistry in general is so Saturnian in nature. Even my dentist was Saturnian who was also going through his Saturn return.

Aside from Saturn quite literally ruling over bones and teeth (side note did you know there’s a tooth implant called Saturn?), it’s incredible how ritualistic dentistry and taking care of your teeth is. The process of getting x-rays done where they take photos of your teeth over and over again is very Saturnian. Checking every tooth front and back and every crevice and then determining what steps to take next is once again; VERY Saturnian. That’s why it’s said that taking care of dental hygiene can improve your Saturn.

I currently have Saturn transiting over my Moon and to honor Saturn I decided to make a dentist appointment because I kept putting it off until it became an issue (a lovely lesson from Saturn). I usually hate going to the dentist, in fact I actually somewhat fear going, but I knew if I kept it off any longer I would never achieve my goal of having strong healthy teeth. I came in wanting to just have a consultation about one tooth and it ended up becoming a full exam so I ended up there for 3 hours and had a lot of time (Saturn) to think about how impactful a Saturn transit can be.

I found myself getting frustrated about the exam because I just wanted to go in and talk about my one tooth that needs an implant and in that moment Saturn clocked me. You know when you want something and then realize how many steps it takes to achieve it/get to where you want to be? Yeah. I realized how long it might take to get that implant because of how many other things that needed to be addressed. I was neglecting myself by not properly caring for my teeth therefore neglecting Saturn and by doing that I elongated the process. I perceived this to be one of Saturn’s lessons. By setting things aside for later, it can actually create more of a hassle and push you further away from your goal.

Saturn is one, if not the most influential planets in my opinion. Saturn is a force to be reckoned with. A planet that causes you to do the nitty gritty work, something that cannot be ignored, otherwise it’ll just eventually blow up on your face causing you to HAVE to do something about it; it’s what keeps everything together. Without Saturn there’d be only chaos and disarray. Saturn isn’t against you, it wants you to be the best and the only way to do that is to be disciplined, work hard, and remain patient and consistent.

Understanding that in a matter of time (once again Saturn as it governs time), you can and will achieve what you want, it’s all just a process—unfortunately sometimes a very long one, but it doesn’t always need to be.

Going to the dentist in a way helped me understand my own grievances with things regarding time, effort, discipline and patience. I reminded myself that by abandoning and failing to put effort towards a goal can definitely be a negative manifestation of Saturn. By not knowing how to discipline yourself, it can show a lack of self respect and control in a way.
