Roommates AU || Elle & Shizuo
When Shizuo heard the door to the apartment creak open, he didn’t move from his lounging position on the couch, one arm covering his eyes while his free hand hung over the edge, fingertips brushing the floor.
The blond listened as his roommate made her way around the apartment, putting some things down while picking up other things. As the noises persisted, keeping him from being able to fall back into sleep, Shizuo finally dropped his arm from his eyes and sat up, his shaggy blond hair sticking up in all directions. Elle was in the kitchen cleaning up dishes and a twinge of irritation flickered in Shizuo’s golden hues. Didn’t she notice that he had been trying to sleep?
Quite honestly, Shizuo was beginning to think this whole roommate thing should not have been rushed into as quickly as it was. In the moment, it had seemed perfect--they’d both pay for the rent and stay out of each other’s way--Shizuo was a bartender so he only really worked at night while Elle did whatever she did during the day. Oh, but he couldn’t have been more wrong. They were complete opposites, but not merely in schedules. While Shizuo hated to clean, Elle always tidied--when Shizuo wanted to sleep, Elle was up making a million different obnoxious noises.
It was seriously beginning to piss the blond off.
Shoving himself to his feet, Shizuo headed into the kitchen, dressed in a white cotton t-shirt and loose sweat-pants. Running a hand through his tousled hair, the bartender casually opened the fridge and pulled out a chocolate pudding cup. Popping the aluminum top off, Shizuo slowly licked the foil, keeping his eyes on Elle before casually dropping it onto the counter as if he hadn’t noticed the cleaning she was in the midst of doing.
“How was work?” Shizuo finally asked, his low voice cutting through the uncomfortable atmosphere.
