Late-Golden-Age Damiano continues to surprise, giving what could have been a rather pedestrian vignette film a psychological depth like no other. His usual melancholy on full display, we revisit an estate over three generations: the turn of the 20th century (where Eric Edwards is paired with Avon mainstays Cheri Champagne and Velvet Summers), prohibition era (where Sharon Mitchell runs the estate as a brothel), and a squatting punk band in the ‘70s. Sharon Kane steals the show as a schizophrenic punk rock singer.
