“It feels good to be back.” Sharon admitted, smirking gently in Maria’s direction. All those years had been like a living nightmare for Sharon, but she had found many resources; she had become much stronger during her time in Madripoor. She hadn’t fully given up as working in the shadows either, but she was back with her old comrades, too. “My aunt has always told me to believe in myself, to trust my feelings and my instincts. I don’t know if she would have appreciated me being treated this way, but what is done is done.”

Smoke in the crowd

Sharon sighed as she slipped into the massive tie-dyed tent, smoke and incense filling the air with cheap pretty lights blinking above her head and pillows covering the floor. There were people chilling out all over the tent smoking various things from blunts or hookahs. Sharon smiled and took off her clunky black boots and padded over to a small group sitting in a circle of pillows passing a bowl. She curled her legs under herself as she sat down and smiled.

“I can’t believe they got you out.” Sharon said, without even trying to hide her ANNOYANCE. She understood why Sam and Bucky had wanted to use him, but it was way too much. She had risked so much for them, because of Zemo, had lost everything in the process, and now, he was back around. She didn’t plan to be kind. “You realize that you’ll be back in jail at the moment your job is done, right ?”

“You really shouldn’t worry this much about me. I’m fine.” Sharon assured, a rare SOFT smile on her features as she gently patted her son’s shoulder. Anyway, even when she wasn’t doing alright, Sharon had learned to always pretend she was. Maybe she had inherited from her aunt, Peggy, who had always been an inspiration to her. Nothing could change that. “Maybe I’m just a bit tired, but that’s it.”

“I know it’s not your fault, what Zemo did...” Sharon insisted. Maybe she was trying to CONVINCE herself, too. She had lost so much because of Zemo. She wondered if he would have done the same things, if he had known about his wife’s fate. But it was too late for speculation, and Sharon was at least trying to not be too harsh with the other. They were both trapped in Madripoor now, after all. She took a sip of her drink. “So I’m not mad at you, okay ? I know I sound mad all the time, but it doesn’t mean I hate you.”

“You don’t have to look after me like this, you know. I can handle myself.” Sharon assured, her hand still covering her injury. She was still smirking, even if there was definitively some annoyance in her voice, too. She had been ALONE for years, had learned to survive on her own, even if it meant not being the good little agent she had once been. She wasn’t mad at Bucky for this, of course; she didn’t regret helping her, Steve and Sam back then. She only wished things could have been simpler.

Madripoor was a nightmare, as much as Sharon didn’t admit it out loud. She had learned to survive there, of course, but there were moments like this in which she needed ALLIES, even if she wasn’t really the type to ask for help. She felt relieved when Natasha arrived, though, even if it was a bit unexpected.

“Thanks for coming.” She said, letting a brief smirk cross her features as she stood up. “You didn’t have to.”

Sharon was glad Sam had truly talked to the government about her. It felt strange, to be FREE again. She spent more time with him nowadays, too, of course. They were allies, even friends. She would never doubt it again. 

He had entered the shower, before they took a breakfast together that morning. However, Sharon noticed he had let a small opening; the bathroom’s door wasn’t entirely close, which made her raise an eyebrow, but she didn’t hesitate much, and decided to join him.

She opened the door, then removed her clothes. When she joined him in the shower, she had a playful smirk on her features. “It was an invitation, right ?” She asked, half-teasing before a chuckle escaped her lips. She then brought his body close to hers, and kissed his lips. “Anyway, I’m here now.”
