SK Update
I'm a little more than halfway through the first draft of Chapter 29, which is shaping up to be pretty hefty. Then I'll need to do some editing.
In the meantime, have a little teaser:
“Actually, Elijah and I were discussing business,” Francesca says with a wide hollow smile and a tilt of her head. “Perhaps you can come back later?”
It’s not a request, not that Lucie cares. She holds her ground and watches Francesca turns back to Elijah.
“As I was saying, I’ve already settled the dispute on the docks. I pacified the witches with an increased share in cemetery tours, and I’ve given the Crescents a Welcome-Back-to-Humanity gift in the form of $100 chips to my casino. So I think I deserve some champagne don’t you?”
Elijah hums, a noncommittal sound. When a waiter passes with a tray of long stemmed champagne flutes he relieves him of one and then another before turning back to the conversation.
Francesca reaches for a glass with a victorious smile. One that immediately vanishes when he passes over her and extends it to Lucie.
She takes it gratefully. Avoiding Francesca’s furious stare, she takes a sip and resists the urge to rub it in. The liquid sparkles down her throat, sweet and sharp in a way that makes her eyelashes flutter when she drinks it down.
“There, you’ve had your drink,” Francesca snaps, a break in her simpering, convivial mask. “Now scurry along and let the adults talk.”
Maybe she's emboldened by liquid courage or may it's Francesca’s clear distaste, but she surprises even herself when she replies, “Actually, I was hoping I might steal you for a dance.”
A sidelong glance tells her Francesca’s face is now a spectacular shade of mottled red, but she’s watching Elijah, who doesn't both to hide the obvious amusement dancing behind his eyes.
“You can steal me for the evening, if you’d like.” He offers her his hand and a sly smile. She takes it gratefully and lets him lead her out onto the floor, Francesca forgotten as the next song starts.
Sunday Morning Chore
I’ve noticed of late that my knives aren’t do the quick jobs and realized that they have not been sharpened since before hunting season. i use my small knives daily in the kitchen and I sharpen them myself. These are my favorites and the most used when dealing with vegetables. On the left is my Warthog sharpener that we were introduced to when we went elk hunting in Ohio several years ago.…

you know what I would’ve liked to see more of? the boys sparring and such. like, we know it kind of happened when Jack first lost his grace, Bobby teaching him how to fight. But like. You know Sam & Dean had to be sparring on occasion, especially if things were slow. Or sparing with Cas bc he’s stronger than any of them and helps keep them from getting rusty
