i read the article you posted about and it made me so sad. The one hopeful thing was it said that recognising the patterns it talked about seemed to help gay men. It's awful that perceived femininity in gay men is punished like that. I've seen the meanness it described more in older gay men than in younger ones. Now i see why. I hope that maybe by understanding what is happening, you and others can find a healthier way forward.

Yeah, the article really sums up how I’ve felt about my community but never really been able to convey in words. The feeling of loneliness in a community that has so much inner hostility as well as external hostility is something I think a lot of the gay community is feeling.

So I’ve started watching HxH and freaking love it but I’m afraid to watch everything since I’ve heard how heartbreaking the end is.. is it worth the emotional trauma?

I think any show that can make you feel even a small amount of what Hunter x Hunter can make you feel is worth watching.

Please don’t let that be the reason you stop. It’s the best show I’ve ever watched and you’ll be broken for the rest of your life, but you’ll know it will 10000% have been worth it.

*spoilers ahead* but why hxh is heartbreaking? For gon's rage? For the separation of Killua and Gon? For what? I sure have cried in those moments but now that I've finished it the only thing that if I think about it made me a bit sad is meruem and komugis death... Killua and Gon are still in contact tho they for sure will be together again if just togashis back will heal lmao sorry for my bad english

I personally don’t see the show itself as heartbreaking. The end of the show personally left me heartbroken, because I’ve never cared about two characters like Gon and Killua. While I think the ending was completely necessary, it was the last thing I ever wanted from the two, and that left me heartbroken. I want them both to be happy, and I know they’ll have that eventually, and needed the ending for their growth, but that doesn’t mean it didn’t break my heart.

2) How did you discover your sexuality, tell your story?

Ooh, this is actually one I was thinking about recently. I don’t know how to explain this, but I can’t remember consciously when I realized I was gay? I think I’ve just always known, but also knew it was taboo to talk about growing up. 

When people ask, I think the earliest I can remember is around 3rd grade. When we can’t talk to friends & such about this sort of thing, we turn to the figures we seem to find the most genuine comfort in, and for me, that was my 3rd grade teacher. In 3rd grade, I was reading at a 10th grade reading level, but I would still go up to him every day to ask what a word meant, just so I could be close t him. It was a sense of comfort and was, in my own way, my little victory. 

16) Who is your favourite lgbt+ Icon/Advocate/Celebrity?

For sure Brendon Urie from Panic! at the Disco. I love this man, and the amount of good he’s done for the lgbt+ community is insane. 

17) Have you been in a relationship and how did you meet?

I am currently going on 16 months with my wonderful boyfriend, who I met on Tumblr actually! So to anyone wondering if it can work, long distance, meeting someone online, etc...look at us!
