“And They Were Plague Doctors!”
“Oh god, they were plague doctors.”
‘Serene’
Who’s to say that death can’t be beautiful?
‘Plague Crow’
I had the idea of a little crow dude wearing a plague doctor mask, and I’m so glad that I did.
'Exchange of Minds'
This one was honestly really fun to do, I love the idea of passing on other ideas and inflicting how people will think about things in the future. And this kinda encapsulates all of that, so I'm really proud of it. ☺️
‘I See You’
Suddenly it didn't matter that their bedroom was on the second story and that their windows had been locked from inside.
None of it mattered.
As a warm puff of air brushed against their ankles.
Someone was under their bed.
‘The Thing That Looks’
The thing's eyes reflected a pale yellow, just as yellow as the moon that had shone in the sky just a few minutes ago.
It blinked.
And the starry pattern on it’s face blinked with it.
The Myrske
The Myrske is a passive species, and are actually quite rich in numbers given the fact that they have no real enemy or predator to hunt them back into smaller numbers. Most animals inherently know to avoid the Myrske, just from their instincts alone as the Myrske feed on the toxic waste that has been put on the earth by humans and machines.
That being said, ingesting any part of a Myrske is fatal with no known cure.
The Myrske can and will travel nonstop until they can find their next food source, going hundreds of thousands of miles within a single day to find sustenance.
As such, they usually can be found (if at all due to their excellent camouflage) roaming the vastness of the land in order to feed and accomplish the task that they were born to do. However, most of them generally don’t have to make this perilous journey given that most Myrske tend to stay in cities, culdesacs, and suburban neighborhoods disguised as just your average bush when they roll on their backs to sleep.
Agewise, the Myrske are born with a peach fuzz covering their bodies and the petals on their back standing straight up. It due to ingesting the toxins that they do, that the grass begins to sprout and cover their body. Newborn Myrskes will almost always be seen with a lush green coat of grass, it is only later in life when the decomposition process starts that the green grass will slowly be replaced with brown and their petals will start to droop. This process takes roughly up to thirty years to accomplish, while the Myrske will begin having more and more trouble moving as fast as it once did. The previous amount of food that it ingested won’t be enough, and it will seek to get more and more for the next cycle of its life.
Rebirth.
Just as a Myrske dies, another is born in its place. Rising from the shell of decomposition and rot, it will be much smaller than the previous Myrske until it grows into maturity.
Myrskes will grow, die, and be reborn for just about as long as the earth has toxins that it needs to be dispelled of.
Here we see a Myrske that is roughly middle-aged what with its brown grass and drooping petals, being reminded that the fate of all flower is...
To die.
