Tal vez te veo por ahí, the cheeky comment leaves her flustered and although she’d heavily doubted her and Lagoona’s paths would cross again, she’s proven wrong weeks later.

It would be just her luck to run into the other blonde at the rink out of all places in New York. Not that she found her first interaction with Lagoona unpleasant at all, but what were the odds of this occurring more frequently?

At least she’d been accompanied by other friends rather than her roommates.

Taking pity on how comically horrible Lagoona was on the ice, Denali skates over to offer a helping hand to a friendly acquaintance, saving her from being laughed at by her friends and other patrons. Maybe it should’ve been awkward seeing as they didn’t know each other but Lagoona makes it easy, she’s personable and has Denali’s cheeks aching from giggling at her comments as they skate about together.

It’d never be something that she’d willing admit out loud, and the thought only lingers for a day or so, but Rosé feels a pang of disappointment when Denali’s social media goes silent.

She doesn’t notice straight away, it’s only when she goes back to watch that video again for.. reasons unspoken.. does she realise that it’s been a while since the brunette posted anything new.

That it’s been a while since one of their little interactions.

Weeks pass, and she falls back into normal routine. Work, continue the night at a bar or a club, bring home a pretty blonde girl who leaves shortly after screaming out her name, repeat.

Blondes had always been her preference, proven by her track record, but Rosé starts to actively avoid brunettes without even noticing that she’s doing it - working her way out of the holds of girls with dark curls and buying drinks for those who didn’t resemble Denali anymore.

Their paths only cross again on Valentine’s weekend, unintentionally.

Though sleep had taken them both quickly that Valentine’s night, in turn taking away their worries and wandering thoughts that pooled up inside, the morning after was.. sweet, if only a little awkward.

Redressed in her flirty two piece from the night prior, they’d bid each other goodbye like two distant friends as opposed to.. whatever the hell they were; a wiggle of her fingers, as she clutched her coat to her chest oddly vulnerable, and a clearing of her throat as she’d murmured her, "See you around, or something."

Rosé doesn’t even need to tell Jan or Lagoona anything when she gets home, she can tell by the almost identical looks on their faces that they already know where she disappeared to and where she spent her night.

They’re still in bed when she finally gets home to them, drops down in between the two blondes and lets the comfort of their presence drown out her spiralling thoughts instead - one set of hands stroking the length of her bare arms and the other running back through dark tresses of hair.

She almost feels guilty when she leans in to kiss Lagoona, soft and short as a wordless apology for disappearing last night, and the memory of being so close to Denali’s lips flickers almost instantly back into her mind.
