But did he switch? Did he really? ;)
So as we all remember, in a typical Lance fashion, Lance took it upon himself to choose the passengers for each paladin in s7e01, The Road Home episode
Krolia, Shiro and Coran were his chosen passengers for Keith. As I see it, it was logical to have Krolia with Keith. Coran could’ve gone with Allura but Lance is Lance and he still wants to get under Keith’s skin sometimes so he had him go with Keith for fun.
Shiro though?
Shiro could’ve gone with any other paladin, too, but I guess Lance already knew what’s up since the Snow White scene in s7e1 and he knew Keith and Shiro were most comfortable together anyway, so Lance just probably went ‘why give everyone a collective headache if something bad happens to either of the two so just lump them together and make everyone’s life easier’ (and that definitely balanced out his decision of putting Coran with Keith in Lance’s head).
Moving forward, even though initially Keith’s complaint was deliberately cut off, it was clear in the next few seconds who the unwelcome passenger one was for Keith--
(I must say the subtle changes of Krolia’s and Keith’s expressions here are amusing to watch)
-- and it was Coran. They just got gradually irritated with Coran and so you know by now that it was the Altean who Keith referred to at the start (that he would gladly trade Kosmo with)
(Keith eventually gets tired of Coran’s antics)
and that’s when he suggests that they should SWITCH passengers
However, when you say "switch”, it means some sort of trade or exchange. It’s the ‘I give you my passenger and you give me mine’ sort of thing so it’s amusing to see this at the end--
Because Keith didn’t really even switch passengers with anyone. He just went, ‘you know what, just take Coran and leave’. He said he’d SWITCH but guess what, he just got rid of an annoying passenger and he kept Krolia and Shiro with him.
So basically, all I’m trying to say in a very roundabout way is that Keith was already contented with his mom and Shiro as his passengers. ;)
Sheith enthusiastically coleading: staying up late strategizing, copiloting, attending diplomatic conferences, copiloting, talking to the others as one, finishing each other's sentences, copiloting, just them being in their element together
Rewatching Ep8 for Marmora fic and...
Shiro: We came to form an alliance-- but obviously we’re not welcome. Come on, Keith, we’re leaving.
Me:..Uh, leave how? Through the hole that is currently closed for 2 days? All alone with Keith in the red lion cockpit? What are you even going to do for two da---
Me:
Me: Nevermind, Shiro, carry on.
And Shiro really, really wanted to.
“Keith this is crazy. If they’re not going to help us, let’s get out of here.”
Come on bae
If Keith didn’t dig his heels in, they’d just be staring into eachother’s eyes for two days waiting for the rift to open. Not that I’m against that. :’D
By all means. Tell Keith more about why he shouldn’t be running off with Allura. Or answer-holding Blades. Or anyone. In detail. With examples.
(Also, this episode isn’t half over and Shiro keeps touching Keith’s shoulder. Almost like Shiro’s trying to anchor Keith, somehow...)
VLD S7 thoughts
I just finished S7 and despite all the initial negative things I read about it, it was a good season. I was afraid that I might get "bored" because I've been spoiling myself before I was able to watch it and honestly, IT IS NOT BORING!
Admittedly, the first few episodes got on my nerve but because it came after the action-packed S6. As a Sheith shipper, I am hyper-aware of "shippy things" but as soon as I build momentum, the general plot got me. I ended up cheering and shouting and cursing throughout the actions and I even cooed when Adam was shown. Shipping goggles aside, Adam will always be special to Shiro and it is part of is past. Shiro's still the rep even if Adam is dead. And Keith, damn, that Keith and Acxa thing, honestly, has been with us since S1 (or the Weblum). I will not mind it BUT of course, Sheith is OTP.
My fave part is Hunk. I love him so much and so much development happened to him. Allurance seemed inevitable, as much as Kl@ncers deny this, I'm 80% sure Allurance will be canon. Sheith tho, I'm not sure.... if S6 gave me 80% canon, I'm now down to 65%? Lol, but still S7 gave us good Sheith content! I mean, Keith's devotion to Shiro is 100% canon, nobody can deny that. And any SANE shipper will be happy for it.
One season to go and I am reminded from my S6 Sheith high. Acxa is a thing I guess, but that does not make the season "unwatchable" according to rabid fans and shippers (because Keith is "straight"). Lol. But we'll have to see.
