Erik Koskinen live at The Potters Shed in Shell Lake, WI- 6/10/22
My previous post of photos of Humbird were from the same show, and of all the shows I've been to this year, I think they are the two artists I've seen the most. I've been following Erik for over 10 years now, and Humbird for about 3, but they each hold a special place for me. People might not know about Minnesota's amazing music scene, but people who live here are very aware, and very proud. This year, more than any year before, I've felt a very strong connection to that music scene. Maybe it was the Covid year when there were no shows, but when shows came back I realized how much live music meant to me, in particular local music. Every time I see certain artists, it's like seeing old friends again. For people who are really passionate about music, it's more than just music, it's like food for the soul. It's why I write about music, why I photograph concerts, and why I record concerts. I enjoy what music means to me, and I enjoy spreading the word about musicians who mean the most me.

These were from a showing we did at the Shell Lake Arts Center in April. What a neat place, an old high school turned art center. And we had a heck of a good turnout too. Lots of fun and friendly conversations.

This is such an artsy School, some kid literally woke up and his friends and him took their trumpets outside at 5 am to practice their scales and tri tones
