When John asks if it is for an experiment, Sherlock replies no. Which leaves John feeling rather jealous. Sherlock, however is merely responding to a text from Janine: 'Find me a good boyfriend - and I mean a fucking fantastic one - and we can be friends again. Also, you can have the beehives from my back garden'

Soulmate AU, where your soulmate’s name appears on your scalp - Mrs Watson had a problem. The name on her baby John's head was male. With a homophobic Army captain for a father, that just wouldn't do. So Mrs Watson lets John's hair grow in and tells her on duty husband that John's soulmate is called Mary. John grows up looking for his Mary and he think he finds her at uni, in the Lovely Mary Morstan who is training to be a nurse at Barts.

Things are going great for john but he feels like something is missing. He joins the army and as part of his initiation, he gets a buzzcut. But when he looks in the mirror, his soul mark doesn't say Mary, it says Sherlock

Eventual BBC John/Sherlock & Established ACD Holmes/Watson - John & Sherlock are interrupted by Holmes & Watson magically appearing in their living room. Holmes & Watson explore this new London and find out being gay is acceptable and that gay marriage is legal. This leads to them spending time in public as a couple. The only problem? Everyone thinks they are modern Sherlock and John. The press of course have a field day, and John and sherlock have to confront their feelings for each other.
