After the Fortune Cup, Ruka swore that she would never abandon her spirit friends again. This was a promise that she swore that she would keep from now on. So not being able to see or feel any of her spirit friends had the young Signer concerned. She told Rua that she was going to walk around along a bit to see if that could get them to come out and get a feel for the area as well. As she walked she spotted many unfamiliar faces, but her spirit friends still didn’t come out. Out of the corner of her eyes, she saw someone who looked like a Duel Monster Spirit and she ran over there. Hopefully if the other was a spirit, they could tell her what was wrong with her friends.

“Are you a Duel Monster Spirit?” 

She asked the other with her hands clasped together in contagious optimism.

“Astral...? Hang on, did you really throw that?” There wasn’t anyone else in this room with them, so Astral had to have thrown it, but...the loaf in question had smacked the back of his head with some speed. Had Astral started going to the gym? Could Astral even go to the gym?

“I didn’t think you had enough muscles to even pick up something like that, let alone chuck it at my head that fast. I dunno about the whole ‘throwin’ food’ thing, but...I’m kinda impressed.”

“…Huh!?” The bread didn’t hurt. In fact, it’d caught him more off guard being smacked in the back of the head by food than anything else, but Takeru had never seen the other before. He didn’t exactly look intimidating (he looked more like an angry kitten trying to be intimidating), but what had Takeru done to deserve being hit in the first place!?

“Is this because I’m in the wrong dorm again…? You guys seemed a lot more friendly last time I was here though.”

Congrats, your (totally not an alien) roommate has covered your shared dorm room in candles. Something's going to light on fire.

“—!?” Yeah, that ‘something’ was totally going to be him with how many candles there were in here. There wasn’t just a couple, but every square inch of their small, shared room was literally covered in flames—and what wasn’t covered in flames, was covered in the glow from the flames!  

“H-Hey, Astral…I gotta question. So what’s with all the candles, huh? We aren’t havin’ like one of those…seance things, are we?”

"Yuuma, you told me to go get it. You were unclear, so this is all the things I got."

“I was wonderin’ where you took off to for so, but that was just a figure of speech, Astral. It’s like a saying, it means ‘good luck’.” Though, maybe he should’ve known better by now than to say stuff like that around Astral, too.

“...You’re gonna take all this stuff back eventually though, aren’t you? Right...?”

There are at least 3 essential oil diffusers in their room. They weren't there when Yuma went to class an hour ago, but now they're here and the whole room smells like an abomination of lavender, grapefruit and peppermint.

Well, the smell wasn’t...bad, at least. A little strong maybe, but lavender covered peppermint grapefruits weren’t the worst thing Yuma’s ever been unlucky enough to smell. Some of Akari’s cooking had been worse. Actually, way worse; but maybe staying outside today wasn’t such a bad idea either.

“Wonder who let Astral loose with the scents though? I didn’t even know he liked peppermint.”

"Here. You said you wanted 'a coffee as black as your soul.' The whitest thing I could find was milk."

“Astral, for the last time, that was Ryoga who said that. Not me! I said I wanted the extra chocolaty hot chocolate with those super fluffy kuriboh-shaped marshmallows.”

“C’mon! Do you seriously need me to go with you everywhere when we ask for food?” Though, he’ll still take that milk, too.

“…It’s okay. You can keep him. He’s probably been somewhere and got into trouble again, hasn’t he?” Yuuma didn’t even need the answer; Astral was really good at that anyway.
