honestly it isn’t even that ash is gay, he just literally doesn’t know what a boy or a girl is. he was raised by a single lesbian mom and a mr. mime, his best friends are an electric rodent and a bunch of gnc gay/bi/trans kids and teens who are obsessed with their pokemon, and the one time a girl kissed him he was like “haha that sure was weird, huh pikachu?” the only conceptualization of gender he has for himself is in relation to becoming a pokemon master, which i guess nullifies my entire first sentence because that does in fact mean he is gay
