(halloween) give me a ship and i’ll tell you who:
chooses the pumpkin: I think Mia chooses the pumpkin, and like, she even has it down to an art. She’s looked up how to tell if they’re more ripe than not, and it just has to be perfect, because it’s going to sit at their door, and it’s the first thing people will see concerning their Halloween spirit.
carves the pumpkin: Most definitely Cameron. She has an idea and she draws it out, but the pumpkin she chooses is always too hard because she wanted one that was nowhere near ripe so it’ll last the month, but she can’t even get the knife through the skin. She draws it out for him to cut out.gets scared and clings the other in a haunted house: Oh, Mia totally. Cameron’s kind of been hardened by his career so jumpscares aren’t a big thing for him, and even though she went through the training, she wasn’t out in the field much, so she’s so jumpy and he practically has no blood flow to his arm by the end of the haunted house. It eventually turns into Cameron walking in front and Amelia’s face buried in his back because she just cannot handle it.has the matching costume idea: MIA DOES, OMG. And Cameron just cannot imagine himself in a skin tight, skeleton leotard so he refuses, but I think a couple of years, Mia (as a joke) dresses as a Muggle witch, and he helps her with it and even agrees to wear a wizard’s hat and charms his beard and hair to look white, and they look so cute. All their non-magical neighbors ask him how he does his hair so well and he just shrugs and tells them spray paint.makes a cozy bed-fort to cuddle in: Cameron’s bed is already a cozy bed-fort, tbh, so I guess Cameron does. Mia just drags all the blankets they’ve collected out of the linen closet and throws them on the bed, and he whines that there’s barely enough space for them, but it doesn’t even matter because the blankets all end up on the floor by the end of the night.steals the other’s candy: Oh goodness, I think they have a GIANT bowl for trick-or-treaters, and Mia collects candy for the entire month, BUT CAMERON KEEPS EATING IT. She scolds him every time she catches him, but shhh, don’t tell, she sneaks some herself too, and Cameron totally knows.accidentally gets lost in a corn maze: Hmmm, I don’t think any of them do, tbh, UNLESS they’re with their nieces and nephews (SUSAN AND EMD KIDS!!!!), and they have to run after them, and suddenly Mia looks up and Cameron isn’t around so she has to walk around the entire time with a crying baby and she doesn’t want to shout his name out (because there are people around and that’s embarrassing), but as soon as they’re out, he’s waiting for her by the exit, looking super concerned, and she runs and she practically jumps into his arms, because she’s relieved as heckie.tells spooky stories to scare the other: I don’t think they’re any good at spooky stories, tbh. I think he tells her about the Muggle folklore around magic and Halloween, and honestly, they make her laugh, because for almost all the things, there are explanations to them. Ghosts, skeletons, witches, nothing is actually scary.collects cool-looking leaves: They both do? I think Mia likes collecting them to put in her picture albums, and if Cameron happens to see one that she misses, then he picks it for her.
