Send 👶 for my muse to admit to yours that they’re pregnant.
She’d been pregnant twice already so she was well aware of the signs even before her mother started looking at her through the corner of her eyes. Really Antonia should be happy at this point because Trevor was there and the two of them were as good as married even if there hadn’t been a church. But it could be because Toni was still so small. The little girl had barely started to lift herself up and toddle around and now there would be another child coming. Well no one could say that she and Trevor didn’t enjoy each others company. “Don’t look at me like that.” The blonde sighed as she looked at her mother. “I’m well aware but he doesn’t know yet.”
The older woman sighed. “You should be more careful. You caught a fever after Toni and we almost lost you. It’s too soon for another one.” Concern was clear in her mothers voice as she pulled the stew from the stove.
“I know Mamma.” Cassie nodded. She remembered the fear on their faces but she’d made it through. But this one would be coming in the winter if she was doing everything right in her head. “I’ll be fine. I’ve had two healthy babies this one wont be any different maybe I’ll even get a boy. A little boy with a smile like his.” A smile took over her features as her hand rested against her stomach but it quick dropped away as everyone started to come in for dinner. “Don’t say anything.” She gave her mother a pointed look before walking out of the house to wait for Trevor. He and Aaron were usually the last ones in and she could see the two walking up from the bar. They’d done a good job rebuilding it after the fire.
Trevor smiled at his wife. “Ma’am.”
Rolling her eyes she took his hand before pulling him away from the door and down the porch so they would have more privacy. “I have to tell you something.”
He met her gaze and smiled. “If it’s about Sarah cursing that was Aaron not me.”
“It’s not that, though we’ll be talking about you teaching our daughter curses later.” Because that was what she was. Their daughter. Taking his hand she brought it to her stomach. “You’ll be a father again this winter. Two in less than two years Mr. King that’s quite impressive. Mamma is not pleased.” She started to laugh but it was cut off by his lips and she melted into him as her arms wrapped around his shoulders.
