Another day, another raid. Another battle Shiro Shieldstand fought aganist Jormag’s minions. The campaign aganist the ice dragon in the Drizzlewood Coast has been heavy on the guardian’s shoulders. Charr that he once knew allied thenselves with the ideals of Bangar and his dangerous pursuit in taming the dragon. Today, while he meditated atop Lion’s Arch, he held a single quaggan egg. all that survived an attack in recent events. Poor things didn’t even had a chance to react. and his shield, all the might and power of the Jade Guardian weren’t enough to protect them.
-I need to do more...I need to grow. In order to protect those who can’t protect themselves...-He let out a heavy sigh- By the legions....what can I do? I had an oath...and i couldn’t keep it.
He looked at the tiny egg in his hands. “I couldn’t protect you”. And for the first time in many years, Shiro felt anger. And deep in his anger, he felt grief. And as hard as he tried, he couldn’t held the stream of tears from rolling down his face, fur becoming wet and heavy with them. His tears droped on the egg in his hands, and he felt something. A cold, yet gentle power awakening from the egg.
“Coo...don’t cry, gentle protector...Quaggan will fight with you”. More than hear, Shiro felt the words in his mind. As the Egg bursted in a shiny, golden explosion in front of him, he instinctely raised his shield. And he felt it cracking, changing. A stream of cold water rushed through his body, and everything went white. And he felt the conection. He felt the change.
When he opened his eyes, the once green jade armor changed into radiant golden. This same heavenly glow now imbued his weapons...and as for his shield, it was now bigger, felt stronger...and inside it, a tiny, little baby quaggan was swimming. They poped its head on top of the shield to greet the stunned charr.
“The power to protect. You have it with you.Coo...Not a guardian. A paladin”.
And it felt right. From this day on he no longer was the Jade Guardian: he was now Shiro Shieldstand, the Radiant Paladin!
