ARCHICAD 18 IS HERE!
I have AC V18 downloaded and have "migrated" my first project already. It seems to be a seamless transition from 17 to 18. I'll be sharing my template and building material updates and ideas soon!

great post!
Here are some more examples of 3d documents that clarify the construction process and design intent. We often combine hung and stacked floor systems at the basement or foundation depending on exterior conditions, insulation needs, structural requirements or other major factors. It can also be essential to show how crawl space and basement footings interact and connect.
The 3d document is fully dimensioned and labeled to show exactly what our goal for this house is.
See Shoegnome (Jared Banks) post that describes the benefits of 3d documents in more detail.
What have you used 3d documents for?
For the second time I have been lucky enough to collaborate with Jared Banks of Shoegnome.com. This time he has picked my brain for reasons I have experienced slow files and files that crash frequently.
Its a good post and there are some great idea's for BIM managers. Also be sure to read the comments at the end; there is some great feedback from graphisoft's readers.
Jared was interested in the documents I published a few weeks ago, showing quick and clear 3d document usage.
He had a couple of posts to graphisofts BIMengine blog, this is the second of those posts (a few interview question & answers)
I'm using this trick today to quickly clean up interior elevations in ArchiCAD... Its a good one, thanks again Jared!
A little more info, illustrating the complexities of a simple naming system combined with a system of saving with every major project change or design shift....
