Countryside Driving V: Shojiko
bidding farewell to Asagiri Plateau, and Shizuoka in general, i made my way back to Yamanashi. after Kawaguchiko, Yamanakako, and Motosuko, Shojiko is the fourth of the Five Fuji Lakes i visited in this trip to Yamanashi (for the record, i also drove past the fifth lake, Saiko, but unfortunately missed the turning to the spot with a view of Mount Fuji). Shojiko is mostly a stop-and-go kind of place for most tourists - you get out of your auto-voiture, walk down to the lakeshore, take a couple pictures, and off you go. there’s not much activity going on here, with only a couple of cafes and resort hotels mainly operating north of the lake. i suppose angling enthusiasts have more to appreciate in Yamanashi’s lesser known lakes. i for the most part, always enjoy any spot that has a view with Mount Fuji in it.
