US Shipping Update

I've been a bit quiet between Silksong and trying to work through a solution to continue shipping, and I've finally made enough progress to warrant a proper enough blog post!
Some of you may have noticed that the shipping to the US on both my storefront is currently at 999 CAD (except for lettermail items). I've let some orders through at the beginning of September to test out the new shipping process, but as of now my shop is 'closed' for US customers.
Relatedly, I've also decided to skip the month-long sale on September that I usually run. I really want to avoid an influx of orders to take away focus when I need to work on finalizing ship routes to the US, and I don't want US customers to feel left out of the sale. I'll have the discount available later on this year, I'm still thinking of a good month for it.
I do not have a timeline on when shipping to the US will be available again, but it'll have to be after a good amount of orders from earlier this month arrive to their recipients without much issues. It'll give me ample time to monitor and adjust if something goes wrong (plus the smaller scale is much preferable to the potential large amount of orders during holidays).
In terms of pricing, please expect the shipping costs to increase once shipping to the US is available again. It's currently estimated to be around 20 CAD at minimum, but it'll be adjusted based on average orders to the US.
This will cover the average duties and brokerage fees paid on my end, without me having to reach out to every customer for the additional fees. This is not a fool proof way to pre-charge DDP, but I'm hoping it can cover for most of the orders I tend to get. If you're planning out a big order to the US and the actual duties is higher than what's covered by the US shipping, I will be reaching out and charging the extra cost.
If you would like a more accurate shipping cost (with duties calculated) and don't mind the wait, feel free to reach out! My DMs and my shop email is open for inquiries and custom orders, but it will take some time for me to process.
Other than that, I'll also take the opportunity to rework lettermail prices. This one you can blame on Canada Post.
