Installing MineWhat on a Shopify store
You can add MineWhat directly to your shopify store from the app store. Navigate over to the the app store search for “MineWhat”. Simply click on the green “Get App” button on the right hand side of the page. Once that is done, you can continue on with the rest of the steps.
Step 1: Creating a MineWhat account
On the signup screen, you will see a list of platform options listed, choose the “Shopify” option.
Once you do so the app will attempt to connect to your shopify account, authorize the connection.
You will then have to set a password for your account.
Step 2: Installing the user tracking and conversion script

If you would like to track individual shoppers you will have to also install the user tracking script.
Copy the “Theme liquid” script on the page and navigate to the “Themes” page on your shopify admin panel.
Click on the Template Editor for a published theme. You’ll notice a list of files on the left hand side, click on “theme.liquid”. Once you do so you should be able to see some html code.
Scroll through the page to find the tag. You can use the CTRL + F combination and search for it as well.
Paste the code you copied from your MineWhat account just before the tag like this. Once you are done, just click on save.

Although we get some transaction data like “add-to-cart” events directly from your store, you will need to add one additional script so we can track purchases and order data as well. You can add this script to your Shopify conversion page AKA the Thank You page.
On the “Install Script”page, verify the details there, enter your store URL and copy the conversion script. .
Navigate to Settings > Checkout in your shop admin and paste the code in the “Additional Content & Scripts'” text box.
Step 3: Connecting your Google Analytics account
After setting up your the major steps of the installation are complete. In addition to these there are a couple of optional steps, which will enable us to add extra value to your account. The first one of these is to connect your GA account to MineWhat. To do so….
Simply click on the the “Connect GA” button, allow access, choose the right profile and you are done. You can also choose to do this step later.
Step 4: Importing the product feed
In addition to clickstream and transactional data from your website, MineWhat also collects product related information like name, brands, tags etc...and connect the two. To ensure this goes on seamlessly we recommend clients to upload a product feed.
For customers on Shopify, MineWhat can automatically import a product feed. You will see something like the image below on the screen.
Once you have verified the different fields available in the feed, you can click on the next button to review and complete the installation.
