I'm rewatching Arpeggio right now as a late birthday gift to myself and a hypotesis just created itself:
In the episode where the gang is eating dinner with Kita and he's asking Gunzō to return I-401 to the government because he's fearing that she could turn against them, what if he's saying that because as far as he knows, that is the exact thing that happened to Shouzou?
He's pretty high up in rank, so he probably has clearance and therefore knowledge of the events that happened during the short ceasefire during the Great Naval Battle. The problem is just, the humans don't know that Shouzou got shot by his crew. As far as they know, Musashi suddenly and for no reason turned on them.
