Thou Adonai are a shield for me. Psalm 3 is a psalm of David, written during a time when he was fleeing from his son Absalom. In the psalm, David expresses his trust in YHWH for protection and deliverance from his enemies. He declares that Adonai is his shield and savior and that he will not be afraid even when he is surrounded by enemies. The psalm also includes a request for YHWH to hear his cries for help and to save him from his oppressors.
